The Truth About Gemini Man

Being a regular horoscope reader myself, i always fascinating on how some of the daily prediction actually hit the bulls eye. One of my friend forwarded an attachment describing how each of this zodiac characters represent themselves. I could almost laugh my ass off when i read it as it is so ME! I am completely agree with the first few paragraphs, but not quite sure about the rest of it. This is what a Gemini man might have appear to be:

A man in this Zodiac has a thin long and proportional face. He has a high forehead and very cleaver. He looks like he can not stand or sit still, a very fast person. His nose is just right in size, thin lips, talk fast and very talkative. He can think faster than he talks, but once he start talking, he will talk non stop as if god has gifted him with that special talk machine mouth. He likes to cut his hair short and he is very athletic. He is a tall, slim and every movement of his is "Fast" or nearly call "Hyperactive".

He has a long fingers and always tapping on table or moving his finger as if he is trying to grab something. He is the type who will write or scribble on paper, he never stay still. His hair always well comb or neat. He will spent a long time to comb his hair. He will keep his manicure and pedicure clean.
He is a well dress and clean guy, so if you like cleanliness, you will love him.

He will keep all his cloth in big closet, and never throw away even shirts he never wear any more, but yet he still keep buying new cloths and make sure he is in style. He knows how to dress well even with a low budget. He get bored easily with his favorite cloths , cologne. He is very picky, so soap and his cologne even have to be in the same trend or same scent.

If you date this kind of guy, you might think you are dating 2 guys, you will have to guess his feeling and emotion. Is he doing thing because it is a duty, or is it because he wants to?

He change his mind as fast as he change a new pairs of shoes. He can pick up a book and roughly read through and understand it's contents, so if you see a Gemini man who reads the whole book, then he must be influenced by other Zodiac.

He hate to set fix schedule, and dislike a boring same routine job. He could hardly be on time, and can only keep time if it is complete important and necessary. He does not come late because he forgets, but because he always find other attractions along the way. He likes to act opposite to what he wants to do. He is a very good speaker and make a very good politician. He can easily persuade other people and well presented himself in public, a
real charmer. If he is a writer, he will write the best seller.

He always search for truth and constantly study himself. He never satisfy about his fame, his reputation or money, because he thinks he deserved more. He will keep searching even he is not sure what is his ultimate satisfaction.

Woman in love normally wants to feel secure and stable, but if you fall in love with this guy be prepare to be alone. He will come to see you when he feels like it. He won't even know how he spent his days everyday, so adjust yourself if you love him.
Dating him is like dating 2 guys, so today he can tell you how much he loves you, but tomorrow he might call you to cancel your date. When he upsets, he could tell you he hate your dress, even it is the same dress he used to tell you make you look very sexy. Do not ask him why he is that's way for he won't have any explanations too. When he is back to normal mood, he will take you out again and forget what just happened.

You can not expect him to be the same person now, and forever. His changes will depend on you, for better or for worst. If you like to take risk and dare for challenges, you will get along with him fine. He keeps his emotional secretly as if hiding it, so you will not be able to see if he crazy in love with you, or does not give a damn at all, but be calm and patient.
He will never leave you if he thinks you are a puzzle, then he will spent times solving this puzzle.

Not In A Mood In Everything !

It's been 2 weeks since i got back from home, still i haven't got any intention to do anything yet except moving to my new place. Well the thing is the room that i am about to live in still unavailable until next week. So there isn't much i can do at the moment but planning and visualize what am i about or should do for the coming days. Manage to pack some of my stuff but what i really want to do is to get this over with. I am not a patience kinda guy, so whatever pops into my head i have to get it done straight away. Hence the period of waiting for this to happen is really killing me.

My supervisor has just acquired his professorship chair in my university, which is what he's looking forward to all this time. All the hard-working and endless publication of papers that he's been working on has finally pay off. I really hope that he can bring up our department into the next level so that me and all my colleagues manage to form a much better research group.

Well, that's pretty much what happened this couple of days. The weather is getting colder and windy now. Oh ya, Bonfire Night happen to take place this week until Monday. People has been lightning firecrackers since a few days ago, kinda feel like in the Second World War epic!

Sad ...

Fast Human Calculator

I think Japan is a great country to work at because they trained their staff so well that they can go beyond average human ability. Long before i posted a video about a woman who worked in a bank manage to stamp in crazy speed without mistake. This time another woman who i think also work in a bank can add numbers using ordinary calculator in a rather unique way and speed. You might be amazed from the first half of the video, wait till you watch till the end!

Tortoise Karma Sutra

I came across quite lot of Karma Sutra figures represented by various objects such as human being, stick man, hilarious cartoon characters and so forth. But seeing tortoises displaying themselves in sexual position is some how odd but funny. Is it just me or they just seems too tired to do all the moves? Things might come out much better if they can just put their big heavy bullet vest aside ... for a while.

Thursday, September 13, 2007

It is exactly a week from now before i am heading back home for holiday after 2 years and 6 months, still i have no intention to pack things up yet. I do made a list of things that i wanted to do and take with me though 'cause i don't like leaving things behind and remember it minutes before boarding. Maybe because it's been a long time since i went back and knowing that i have to do this and that makes you kinda lazy.

Anyway, the list is still long for me to strike through and i should manage to finish up the shopping list by end of the week. So see how it goes!

Japanese ANA Airlines 'Fly! Panda'

In commemorate with its 20th Anniversary of flight route between Japan and China, Japanese ANA Airlines has come up with 'Fly! Panda' package for flight between Beijing and Tokyo. The Panda based package consist almost everything that involve the adorable creature such as in-flight seats, utensils, food and even the aircraft itself decorated as a panda. I think this by far is the most creative way of flying experience you ever get!

Overcharge custom !?

I was expecting a parcel from USA to be arrived this morning, unfortunately the parcel has been held due to subjected to custom charge. Hence, i made a call to the depot centre to find out how much the charges are. At first i was thinking around £15 as the parcel itself cost around £50, so basically 17.5% of VAT plus handling charge and blah blah probably around £20 the most. How i wished that was true, to my surprise it came out a total of £35.72!

My God, i think this is the most expensive custom charges i ever paid! It's almost as much as the parcel itself! I tried to negotiate with the staff to check if i can pay less than that but that didn't help. According to them i have to contact the custom department in order for me to resolve this issue. To avoid any inconvenience to myself, i decided to go ahead and pay the damn charge. Therefore, the grand total of the parcel to get it send on my front door is about £100. It better be REALLY good when i get it tomorrow!

Another innovative design from Apple users

Tired of holding your iPod while watching video from it? Then this is your best solution. Meet iTop, custom made for your everyday use. Apparently some fanatic iPod users modified their favourite gadget by dissecting the display part while preserving its functionality to make it 'fold-able' so that they can enjoy it in a more relax way. Kind of like a portable DVD player. I personally prefer the word 'iBend' than 'iTop' !

Life is tiring in the UK

I started to feel really exhausted over the past few weeks, both physically and mentally. There was a few times when i thinking of quitting my part time job 'cause the amount of work is getting heavier and heavier. And when you get exhausted over this you don't feel like working on anything at all. But at the same time i can't just simply quit my job, i need it to cover all my expenses here.

I always telling myself try to get a job somewhere else which is less tiring and something that i'm most likely going to enjoy. It's easier said than done i have to say! It's not really that difficult to get a job on part-time basis at the moment, especially during summer. It's the matter whether or not you are willing to throw yourself in a whole new working environment. I am a very adaptive guy, meaning i can adapt myself easily to a new environment without any difficulty. But somehow i'm still a bit sceptical about the way people work. I'm not quite sure how to put this into words, is just the indescribable feeling of insecurity and concern on how will people treat you.

Negarakuku ....

Highly debated video made by our very own Malaysian producer. Awesome !!

No Connection On My Broadband !!!

The last few days has been really really frustrating as my internet come and go, well it went off most of the time. Now only i realize how much internet has been part of my daily life. I know this may sound silly and ridiculous but i got really upset and angry whenever the connection is interrupted. I also become less cheerful as though i missed some of my daily routine. It seems to me that internet has also change my feeling and mood indirectly. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or bad but i don't think i can survive without using the internet for a very long time.

Wanted to write something about what i encountered for the past week but due to unable to connect to the internet recently, i don't feel like writing them down now. Maybe next time!

Living Room = Warehouse

It's been raining to whole day and most of my outdoor activities for today are pretty much suspended. Watched a few episodes of Chinese drama still won't ease the boredom, so i was thinking of cleaning up my living room.
Every time when i step into my living room i kept telling myself to tidy it up a bit as things started to pile up. It is so messed up that people would have thought we just move in where in fact we been staying there for the past 5 years! You can almost find various types of junks here, from a completely flatted-tire bicycle to boxes filled with old notes and stuff. I even threw away my shoe box where our tiny little critters live. I called it the warehouse mainly because most of my house mates place their unnecessary items there so that they can have a more spacious room. I was tempted to throw all these shit away a few times before, but since most of the stuff doesn't belong to me i just kept it as it is.

My living room a.k.a. the warehouse.

Anyway, my will of tidy up the living room started to deteriorate soon as i see the condition. I'm not even sure where to start! Therefore, i decided to forfeit my plan for today and hopefully i can clean it up not very long from now.

Who would have expect to see a bed base right next to the front door?

July 7th 2007 ... a.k.a. 3 Sevens, Triple Sevens, 777, ...

Ah yes, 7th July 2007, the day that been highly anticipated by everyone in the whole world. Most people think that today will bring good fortune and luck, for gambling of course. Astrology claimed that today is the day for celebrating love, which is why you may came across over the internet how couples all around the world decided to tie the knot in this magical day.

Well, to me today seems pretty usual to me. Unlike many others who planned ahead just to celebrate it, i'm just doing what i do. Nevertheless, i do like to mark this special day by posting this on my blog just to recall what i did if i ever have the chance to read it back. Some people would go crazy that they will try to gamble in their local casino with $77,777 just as a good luck charm.

And then i was thinking, were there people celebrated on June 6th 2006 last year? I'm sure there are some minority who actually celebrated the birth of Satan or whatever it is that associated devils and evil spirit. What about August 8th 2008 or September 9th 2009 and so on? Will it be as merry as today?

Anyway, hope these lucky number Sevens will bring good luck and fortune to all of you.

National URSI Symposium 2007 @ Portsmouth University

I was on a trip to Portsmouth with my colleagues last Sunday to attend this year National URSI Symposium at the University of Portsmouth under the expenses of my supervisor. Last year it was held at Abingdon, Oxford and unfortunately we were only manage to make it a day trip and we didn't actually walk around the city that much. This time we are definitely enjoyed the trip much much more than the last as we spent 2 days and 1 night there.

We travelled there in a seven-seated family car which hired by the university. You probably think the whole journey was comfortable in a spacious vehicle. Just so you know, there were seven of us and i think this is the most uncomfortable trip that i ever been. Imagine yourself being squeezed in between two persons and stay like that for almost 4 hours. Nevertheless, we do stopped by during the trip for some rest and food but still is pretty exhausted.

Soon as we reached our accommodation, we took a short rest and freshen up ourselves. This is the view in front of our hostel. Amongst all cities located along the beach that i visited, i think so far Portsmouth is my favourite. The scenery and the environment is absolutely breath-taking. I also like the idea where there is a wide open park-alike field open for the public to do their social activities and sports like jogging, walking their dogs and so on.

This is the World War 2 memorial statue to commemorate those soldiers who died defending this country. It's located about 15 minutes from our hostel and the tall statue itself is about four storeys high. Very impressive!

Here i am, standing in front of what it seems to be a huge anchor from one of the ship involved in the Trafalgar Battle. I'm not familiar with the story but i guess it's historically famous, so i took a picture of it.

On the next day, we headed to the conference venue which located at the Business School of Portsmouth University. The conference kick off with some presentations represented from various affiliates including us while the poster session which i am attending took place in the late afternoon.

This is me standing in front of my poster. Unlike the previous URSI Symposium, this time the chairmans of the symposium will select one of the best poster presentation and will be awarded with a certificate and prize money. Luckily my friend won the prize and from the look of his face i think he is quite unexpected and thrill at the same time. Congrats Dawei !

Soon as the oral presentations in morning session was over, we decided to look around at the city centre where the Spinnaker Tower is located before our poster presentation take place later. I'm not sure about the exact height of the tower but it is definitely the most popular landmark here in Portsmouth. The video that i took at the main entrance illustrates more information about the tower.

There are actually 3 viewing decks on top of the tower where you be able to view the entire harbour. At the first deck, there is about 5 meters long of thick glass on the deck floor where you can walk on it to give you an idea how high is the tower. I gave it a try and the experience is absolutely exciting and scary! I was literally sweating myself during the walk, picturing what will happen to me if i fall right through the glass.

My friend Hussaini from Nigeria (the black African in the video) was terrified when he first stepped on the glass, he only put his foot the reinforce bars!

This is the view from the glass floor. Scary!

Me showing off by sitting on the floor where in fact i was sweating my ass off!
Notice that i am too sitting near to the reinforce bar.

After we got off from the tower, we make our way to the harbour for a boat trip which brought us around the harbour area. Then we headed back to the conference for the final session before it ended at about 5:30pm.

Since our middle-east friends craving for some Arabic crusine, we had some Arabic food at the local Arabic restaurant before we travelled back to Bradford. The whole journey was quite pleasant and enjoyable despite the exhausting long journey and I am really looking forward to our next trip in the future. Hopefully by train !!

'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' Singer Dies

Hank Medress, the singer from the group the Tokens which once top of the charts with the single 'The Lion Sleep Tonight' has died of lung cancer. He was 68.

I don't really like the song to be honest, i found it quite irritating sometimes. It's ok if you listen to it for the first 1 or 2 minutes of the song, not all the way till the end. Well, at least not for me. Come to think about it, i've never actually listen to the whole song! Anyway, this is the tribute to the person whose songs will always be remembered forever!

Cool Optical Illusion

I am always a big fan of optical illusions, it's pretty amazing how some simple graphics can trick our nerve system. Take this for example, start off by staring at the dot in the middle of the screen and you will notice that the image later will appear in colour. The image was in fact depicted in black and white, it was the dot that make our nerve system process it incorrectly.

Summer come, summer go...

You wouldn't believe how the weather in UK change instantaneously. The moment you feel the summer breeze is approaching, cold air started to flow in and take over the whole scenery. The next thing you know, rain started to pour literally everyday and it feels like autumn again. I wonder when will the sunshine constantly blazing down here, well for a week at least!

Ice Falling In Spring

This just in! As i was getting myself change for work, all the sudden i heard this loud noise outside my house. At first i thought heavy rain was falling but instead of rain it was small pieces of ice pouring. It only lasted for about couple of minutes. I'm not sure if this is a normal scenery but as far as i concern this is the first time i actually encounter ice falling in the middle of spring here in the UK.

Heavy ice pouring.

I'm 28 Today ... 28 !!!

Yes, i'm turning 28 today. Somehow i still feel like being 22 or 23, mentally of course. Physically? I am still somewhere around 17 to 18 years old, at least this is the truth here in UK. I was having an impromptu dinner in Leeds with some friends of mine last night, it was sort of a 'pre-celebrating' my birthday. Anyway, one of my friend suggested that we pop in to the local pub for some drinks. So off we went to one of the nearby pub. Three of my friends who are actually younger than me walked before me manage to get through the bouncer without being stopped. As i was followed up, the bouncer stopped me immediately and asked me for some ID as apparently i am not old enough to get in. (Note: Minimum age to enter any pub or club in UK is 18 years old.)

At first i showed him my University ID but that didn't work and he insisted on driving licence or passport. Then i was thinking who would have bring passport with them all the time? After much frustration i decided not to get it and we all headed back home instead. And just so you know, i have to show legit ID to the local supermarket staff before i can purchase any alcoholic drinks. Can you imagine that?

Sometimes i have a mixture of gladness and sadness at the same time. Gladness because i still look young to certain people but feeling upset as i don't look mature as i am now. Probably this is just a stupid thought but i am still who i am.

Usually this is the time when i reflect myself on what have i done since my 27th birthday. To be honest, i am not really that good in achieving goals. Compare to other who are even younger than me, i am a bit of a loser. Some of my friends are actually in the strong path to a successful career and some have a happy marriage life. I know this might sound unfair for comparing myself to each other, but to me this is kind of a motivation and encouragement. Keeping this in my mind actually boosting my will to work harder so that i can achieve what they have accomplished.

By the way, i haven't make my birthday wish yet. Let me take this opportunity to wish all my love ones and friends have a healthy and happy life ahead and hope that i can finish what i have started.

Street Wear

Finally, the book that i purchased on Amazon about 2 months ago was finally at my doorstep yesterday. Steven Vogel 's Street Wear: The Insider's Guide.

Cover page.

This book basically give you a brief introduction on street wear culture that have been growing widely through out the globe for the past 2 decades. Interviews between Steven and some of the most influencing street wear production groups are one of the highlight of the book. Also included are tonnes of graphics and illustrations plus useful sources directory at the end of the book.

Introduction of the book.

Personally, i think this book is great as it touches most of the important elements in street wear culture. As i am more of a 'picture' kind of guy (which is why i only read magazines instead of long boring novel), the abundant amount of graphics in this book make it even more interesting and less dull. This book could be perfect it the author widen the scope as well as approaching more popular production brands. Anyway, greatest book that i ever bought so far. At least it's better than the last one.

Tattoo Designs

I'm always been fascinating with body arts and having my own body inked is pretty much what i always wanted to do. I have tried to gather as much tattoo designs as possible in order for me to choose my desire design. I think this is a crucial decision as you don't want to regret for putting something bad on your body for the rest of your life.

Anyhow, i try to look for some books on Amazon and it appears there are some selections that caught my attention. Then i came across this '500 Tattoo Designs' by Henry Ferguson with its quite intriguing cover page and a grand total of 256 pages of tattoo designs. I have never buy any book that associate to tattoo before, so i said to myself 'what the hell, this might be good'.

Soon as i made the payment, i just realize that there is a column where people actually review or comment about this book. According to them ( well, 3 out 5), this book is not what they are anticipated. The cover of the book is a bit misleading, the designs exhibit inside the book is more like a children colouring book. I was shocked when i read this, realize that i just spent about £17 on a children colouring book.

Cover of the book.

Crappy designs.
The book arrived at my doorstep this morning and after flipping a few pages i am completely agree with the reviewers. The designs is not really what i hope for from this book and I have no comment other than 'pricey children colouring book'. Looks like my £17 going straight to the drain.

Latest Aviation Technology

This clip shows how a latest designed helicopter lift without even rotating its blades. Cool huh! Actually, it didn't. It's just that the camera used to capture the footage synchronize the FPS of the rotating blades, hence they look completely still. I don't know about you guys, but it sure looks funny to me. Can't stop laughing to myself watching it.

Mitsubishi Evolution Concept-X

After almost 2 years after Evo IX is introduced, the long waited revolutionized Evo X is finally emerge. I always feel excited every time Mitsubishi Motor releases new generation of Lancer Evolution as they keeps making it better and better. However, this time is a bit let down to me. Although its specification is greatly improved than its predecessors, the exterior of the car is some how not really that intriguing at the first glance. It's kind of a mixture of Volvo's front and Alfa Romeo's rear. With squarish gear knob and silver padding almost on the entire dashboard, the interior is even more futuristic than that i could imagine. I really hope this is just a concept car as they claimed!

Fraud ! Fraud ! Fraud !

One thing I like about living in UK is internet shopping. It's convenient, easy and also reliable. But not for long. About 2 months ago, my credit card has been utilized to make some purchases over the internet by some dickless piece of shit. I made immediate calls to my bank hotline regarding to this issue and thank God within a week they manage to sort it out as they consider this as fraud without any further investigations. From that time on, I started to put extra cautions whenever I shop over the internet.
Things going well since then ... until a minute ago when i was trying to make a payment through Paypal on an item i bought a few hours ago. I just realized that some cocksuckers withdrew credit from my Paypal account and as a results my account has a total of £900++ NEGATIVE balance. I got the shocked of my life knowing that this happen to me again! Apart from reporting this to Paypal, there isn't much i can do at the moment and I really hope they can sort this out a.s.a.p. And to all the motherfuckers who did this, get ready to get burn in hell !!!
