Happy New Year 2008

I haven't post much lately, especially in this month. Maybe because there isn't much to be said and reported lately. So much for holiday seasons! I hate this time of the year !!!

Anyway, i had Chinese hotpot at my friend's place last Christmas Day and most likely i'm heading there again this New Year Day. Since the amount of food that we got last time is incredibly abundant and we ( 5 including me) managed to eat only half of it, we decided to make it another round next week. Hopefully we should be able to finish it then!

I went to Leeds the day after Boxing Day with one of my close friend to scout for items that i am keen to buy. No luck for me as most of the items on my wishing list is still relatively not much cheaper than its usual price. However, i still have "After New Year Sales" to look forward to and who knows i might get lucky!

Happy New Year 2008 and hope this will be a more productive and prosperous year for all of you!

Conference in Loughborough

I was working on my paper to be submitted to the Antenna & Propagation Conference in Loughborough next March. Man i got to say things wasn't get easier ! Been working my ass for 12 hours just to fill up four single column pages, sounds easy but trust me it wasn't. Especially when you started to work on it the very last minutes (lazy me)! Anyway, I'm so glad it went through the system and we will just have to wait and see what's going to happen next.
Hope I can make it to Loughborough under my supervisor expenses ... hehe. *Fingers & toes cross*

In fact, i did came across some of the photographs being circulating over the Internet a few months back which at first i thought it was some computer-aided images. Although there is no unique or fascinating features in these photos, yet somehow it did turned my attention to it. Finally I'm Getting Inked !

I think one of the most priceless experience i have from my trip back home is by getting a tattoo (well, apart from meeting up my friends and family). Getting myself inked is probably the thing that i always wanted to do. I've been collecting various fascinating designs from all types media for the past years just to get the right choice. At first i was planning to get it done here in England but i guess it's going to cost me a fortune, so i decided to have it during my trip back home as one of my uncle knows a good tattoo parlour.

Anyway, so i called up the guy (Yusuf is his name, a Filipino Muslim who can speak fluent Mandarin!) and try to make an appointment with him and he happened to be in town. So i met him up in a hotel where he is staying with a mate of his. Just so you know, he is residing and working in Kota Kinabalu and he is kinda like coming to Tawau for Hari Raya.

Once we met, i showed him the design i brought with me and told him how would i like it to be done. Soon after he set up everything, the shows began. I got to say, the first part of the process which is the lining part is quite unpleasant. It feels literally like slicing your flesh with a razor sharp blade. More over, i'm getting it done at my upper back so no doubt it is more painful than any other part of my body. Despite all the' teeth biting and almost crying myself' moments, i am proud to say that i still manage to put myself together and hold it like a man!

Here is a short footage taken by my cousin Darlene when it took place. Apparently, she had her tattoo done by him too a few months ago and she was getting colour touch up on her lower back as the colour kinda faded away.



The whole experience was amazing and putting my favourite art on my body forever is like a dream come true. I am definitely looking forward to get another tribal art on me, hopefully not too long from now!

Being a regular horoscope reader myself, i always fascinating on how some of the daily prediction actually hit the bulls eye. One of my friend forwarded an attachment describing how each of this zodiac characters represent themselves. I could almost laugh my ass off when i read it as it is so ME! I am completely agree with the first few paragraphs, but not quite sure about the rest of it. This is what a Gemini man might have appear to be:

Not In A Mood In Everything !

It's been 2 weeks since i got back from home, still i haven't got any intention to do anything yet except moving to my new place. Well the thing is the room that i am about to live in still unavailable until next week. So there isn't much i can do at the moment but planning and visualize what am i about or should do for the coming days. Manage to pack some of my stuff but what i really want to do is to get this over with. I am not a patience kinda guy, so whatever pops into my head i have to get it done straight away. Hence the period of waiting for this to happen is really killing me.

My supervisor has just acquired his professorship chair in my university, which is what he's looking forward to all this time. All the hard-working and endless publication of papers that he's been working on has finally pay off. I really hope that he can bring up our department into the next level so that me and all my colleagues manage to form a much better research group.

Well, that's pretty much what happened this couple of days. The weather is getting colder and windy now. Oh ya, Bonfire Night happen to take place this week until Monday. People has been lightning firecrackers since a few days ago, kinda feel like in the Second World War epic!

Finally, i'm back here again. Shit load of crap happened and need to be sorted out soon. Just got up from bed after an 8 hours sleep and it was good. Now i have to keep my head straight as something big is coming my way and try my best to work it out. Got to unpack my stuffs first, will post something about my trip soon.

I think Japan is a great country to work at because they trained their staff so well that they can go beyond average human ability. Long before i posted a video about a woman who worked in a bank manage to stamp in crazy speed without mistake. This time another woman who i think also work in a bank can add numbers using ordinary calculator in a rather unique way and speed. You might be amazed from the first half of the video, wait till you watch till the end!

Tortoise Karma Sutra

I came across quite lot of Karma Sutra figures represented by various objects such as human being, stick man, hilarious cartoon characters and so forth. But seeing tortoises displaying themselves in sexual position is some how odd but funny. Is it just me or they just seems too tired to do all the moves? Things might come out much better if they can just put their big heavy bullet vest aside ... for a while.

It is exactly a week from now before i am heading back home for holiday after 2 years and 6 months, still i have no intention to pack things up yet. I do made a list of things that i wanted to do and take with me though 'cause i don't like leaving things behind and remember it minutes before boarding. Maybe because it's been a long time since i went back and knowing that i have to do this and that makes you kinda lazy.

Anyway, the list is still long for me to strike through and i should manage to finish up the shopping list by end of the week. So see how it goes!

New Range of iPods

Apple has launched their fresh new line of iPods yesterday and during the event Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduce their latest invention iPod Touch into their iPod family (watch it here). The iPod Touch is almost like an iPhone minus the call functionality. Also new is the re-design iPod Nano which even smaller than its predecessor but comes in a larger screen. All these iPods operates on an enhanced graphical interface and comes with new variety of colours with chrome metal back case. Head to Apple site for details on these magnificent new products.

50 Years of Independant

Today marks the 50 Anniversary of Malaysia Independant's Day. Although i am not as patriotic as anyone else, i am still amaze how we manage to get this far. I hope all Malaysian continue to celebrate this day in love, peace and harmony for the next 50 years ever and ever.
